can be used for many purposes. In a catastrophic emergency, they can be lit to provide instant but very horribly polluting survival heating. And there are sure a lot of them around. Ick! Not recommended in a sane world...? They can be used for water-conserving gardening as self-warming water conserving plant containers. We have about 15 of them in our garden area, and grow potatoes, carrots, squash and other plants in them. They use less water than a normal garden.

Also, several very successful houses have been built, requiring zero heat energy input. (see housing). Finally, tires may be baled and strapped to provide architectural building blocks. Tires are things we have built using fossil fuels, and we must re-use that energy accordingly, not just throw them in the landfill. We’re tool users, right?
