means ‘Not In My Back Yard. People, often speculative homeowners, object to new technology which they wrongly think may devalue their house worth. They also think windmills are unsightly. What is unsightly are our mobile parking lots (AKA our highway system) with thousands of cars standing at red lights. Ugly is a lot of things but not windmills. The word for the day should be PIMBY, which means Put It in My Back Yard! Farmers in the Midwest are reportedly making $5,000 an acre leasing land for wind farms. Go PIMBY, no NIMBY.
