Abortion. I am Pro-Adoption and Pro-Choice. Birth control should be available for all of reproductive age.
Death Penalty. Against the Death Penalty.
Stem Cell Research. Go for it.
Physician Assisted Suicide. Those terminally ill, suffering incredible pain should be allowed to check out on their own. It is humane.
Genetically Altered Organisms. All GM research should be monitored. Human created organisms have the potential to destroy our planet. I am against GAO's.
Capitalism. The 'best system' we've got(?). Unfortunately Capitalism has no conscience. Hence, we are seeing the very worst of a possible good system. We must stop subsidising multinational corporations and big businesses with our taxpayer money.
Greed. Greed is in my opinion fear of Death. We can not drive our Hummers through the Pearly Gates, nor take our expensive oversized fancy houses. We will become eternal beings not by our possessions, but by our good deeds and good works. He who dies with the most toys has to do it over again.
War On Drugs. Cliff Thornton, 2006 Green candidate for Governor of Connecticut, advocates legalizing all drugs. In the end it will save us nearly $70 Billion a year, reduce our prison population, reduce crime, and allow us to track those having problems with drugs. Drug abusers need medical help and treatment. This is more a health issue than a crime issue.
The War Against Terror. If we lose our freedoms, then the terrorists have won. Those who trade liberty for security deserve neither.
Prostitution. Prostitution should be legalized and overseen in all Nevada counties instead of just a few. Legalized prostitution for all sexes has the potential for reducing crime, spousal abuse, halting unwanted preganancies and abortions, AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases, drug abuse, child molestors, rapes, and other societal problems. This can also divert police from chasing victimless crimes to other ills, and provide revenues for our state.
Gay and Lesbian Couples. So what. Leave them alone. As long as they don't make you watch, why should you care what they do in the privacy of their own lives?
Marijuana. This year Nevadans may again vote on legalizing pot. Is it time to de-demonize this relatively harmless drug, or must we still lump it into the categories of dangerous drugs?
Illegal Immigration. The paranoia is in the name -- 'illegal aliens'. Is driving over the speed limit illegal? Does it make you a criminal? "Give me your poor, your tired, your huddled masses, yearning to be free...." Who can blame anyone for coming here to try to improve their lives? The problem is NOT illegal immigrants, it is illegal EMPLOYERS. And no, we don't need a billion dollar fence across the US/Mexican and US/Canadian borders. We just may find ourselves in the next few years trying to get to better climactic conditions, and those darned fences will surely slow us down.
Womens' Rights. If women were running the country, it'd be a nicer world. Matriarchal societies are less belligerent and warlike.
Flag Burning. As a local Libertarian put it so well, "If it's my flag I can do what I want with it, and if I'm burning someone else's flag, I should be arrested for theft."
